The Voyager is an ‘Evolution’ of their previous Ocean and builds on its soft, to hard, into wings just behind the hips, chine design. These unique features create a fast stable hull, with excellent edging. This hull, coupled with a low-profile deck, designed to shed water and offer very low windage, will help keep you in control, even in the worst of sea and weather conditions. Giving experienced paddlers, unrivalled confidence to go and explore the Oceans of the world.
The Voyager further pushes the boundaries of accepted sea kayak design and represents the final “Evolution” of the; Buccaneer, Polar, Ocean, ‘development’ series of models.
It is Mike Nelson’s retirement present to the world of sea kayaking, combining everything he wanted in a modern sea kayak design and that he spent 40 years experimenting to develop.
To even the casual observer, the difference between the Voyager and traditional kayak designs can be seen in the chine area down each side of the kayak. The detailed sculpting of this area; soft at the front, hardening towards the middle, then cutting away into the wings just behind the hips, this all took a lot of development to get right. These unique features create a fast, stable hull, with excellent edging ability. This coupled with a low-profile deck, designed to shed water and offer very low windage, will help keep you in control, even in the worst of sea and weather conditions.
The Voyager gives experienced paddlers, the edge control and low-windage of a Greenland-style kayak, but keeps the speed, load carrying and rough water handling of more contemporary designs. It giving those who paddle it, unrivalled confidence to go and explore the Oceans of the world.
