Winter’s Day on Ullswater.

 Frankie and Danny.

We paddled into St Patricks Bay first for Skills, then to Purse point via Cherry Holme.

We then stopped in this Stunning little bay to take in the view and have a snack, then paddled over to Norfolk Island for our main Lunch stop.

Thanks to Frankie and Danny for a Wonderful Winters day paddle.

Some brilliant days out. Lovely people, great company, thanks Mike.

Various day tours on Ullswater.

Try Before You Buy. Peter and his wife Yukari trying out a Valley Etain and Northshore Aspect in choppy conditions on Ullswater.

Try Before You Buy. Later on that day it blew up to Force 5.

Try Before You Buy. Karl came down from Edinburgh to try an Etain too. What a great way to demo kayaks, on Lake Ullswater!

Try Before You Buy. Peter, Yukari and Karl all had a fabulous paddle – tested several boats and all three went away happy with Valley Etains and Northshore Aspect on their roofs.

Happy paddling Peter – Yukari, and Karl. Mike from Cumbrian Kayaking.

Great day out with Tim, weather fantastic just going around Norfolk Island great place for a lunch stop, Glencoyne Wood to the right, Birks Fell and St Sunday crag in the distant background.

Off to Howtown now, Place fell in the background. Trying out two new Northshore Atlantic Sea Kayaks -really nice.

We had a fab day out on Ullswater, Oscar is studying at Kendal college. Once qualified he intends to work in the great outdoors,  as a mountain instructor and kayak guide.St Patricks bay Ullswater, the beautiful picture below was taken by Oscar !

After carefully composing the image and taking the picture, he then dropped my one day old iPhone XR in the drink, fortunately we were only in a few feet of water and the phone is waterproof.

Glenridding ferry pier.

Great day out, thanks Oscar,

Mike

Had a wonderful wild day off the west coast of Cumbria, Walney Island with my good friend Tim.

Start your Walney adventure with a trip around Ullswater first, you’ll be with me Mike Tracey from Cumbrian Kayaking

Cheers

Mike

Kicking around on Windermere trying to sell kayaks to three friends.

Had a great day out with Gemma and Luke,They came up from London for a few days of rest and relaxation, hooked up with me and went out on Ullswater in wild and windy conditions.

It was blowing a good Force 4 gusting 5 at times, they were absolutely amazing.

Next time they’re up, we’ll visit a Seal colony, off the west coast of Cumbria, keeping a safe distance off shore you can have a fabulous experience and not disturb the wildlife.

Thanks for a lovely day you were great company.

Mike

I consider Ullswater to be one of the finest lakes and mountain ranges within the Lake District.

Ullswater itself is fantastic for paddling; long enough to make for a brilliant day excursion or slower trip with an overnight bivouac/camp. A full circumnavigation of Ullswater is a wonderful day out for less than you think, ( see our price guide). Touring/ sea kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid and spray deck provided.

We have frequent stops to brew up and have lunch in beautiful little hidden bays and to enjoy the environment we’re travelling through. Paddling skills, navigation and map reading, as well as the local fauna and flora, are areas we can learn about during the tour. It is an experience you’ll remember and talk about forever.

For a real adventure to hone your paddling and camping skills, we can paddle the length of Ullswater from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding, camp or bivouac the night and then paddle back the following day.
